Good News! Dr. Eng has agreed to perform physicals for our athletes,
OF CHARGE. He and his crew will be here on Saturday, August 11 at Mr. Bob Miller's
located at 5032 Rouse Drive, Suite 100, Virginia Beach, Va. 23462
Dr. Eng will be with us from 8:30am to 10:30am and we ask that you go
on this website
and print out the Medical and Release forms and fill out pages 1, 2,
3 and 4 completely.
Pages 5 and 6 will be completed by medical personnel.
It is recomended
that whether your medical is expired or will expire within the next year,
that you receive
this appointment, since you CAN NOT participate in Special Olympics
current medical on file with state. ALL ARE WELCOME!
ALL COACHES, ASSISTANT COACHES AND VOLUNTEERS!
per our insurance company, all coaches and asst. coaches are required to complete the CDC Concussion
in order to be able to recognize and properly
proceed when any head injury is suspected.
The course is available online and upon completion,
the certificate MUST be printed out and submitted to
Debbie Apperson at the Special Olympics Office.

The Local Council of Special Olympics Virginia
welcomes all ideas on gaining exposure for our
Athletes to assist in
Building a Bigger, Better Virginia Beach Community.
All coaches are expected to assist in raising funds to support their individual programs.
We are looking for
more coaches and volunteers to join the
Local Council as Members at Large.
The Virginia Beach
Council meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month
at 6:00 pm. at MSA, P.C., 5032

Virginia Beach is proud to be a part of Special Olympics Virginia, Area 2.
Virginia Beach is the largest Special Olympics Virginia program within Hampton Roads with
over 400 active athletes and is continually growing. We also happen to be the
host city for many Local, Area, Regional and State Events. Additionally, many
of you may know that Virginia Beach is the host of the Annual Polar Plunge in Virginia
every year which is the largest annual fundraising event for our organization.
